Obituary of Hilda M. Kalinowski

Hilda May Kalinowski, 84, of Miners Mills, a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed on Friday, September 1, 2023, while in the care of the Commonwealth Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on January 10,1939, she was a daughter of the late David and Lillian Rowlands Morris. Hilda grew up on the south side of Wilkes-Barre and attended G.A.R. High School.
Hilda worked as a floor lady in Balfy Shoes and Prestige Shoes. Hilda also was employed at Flare Shoes as a sewing machine operator until they closed.
On October 2, 1971, Hilda married her love, Mr. Joseph Kalinowski. Together the two opened the Kalinowski Market in Miners-Mills, for over eighteen years the market was in operation.
During these years, Hilda was a member of St. Francis Church; St. Benedict's, and a current member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish. While at St. Benedict's she took great pride in cooking meals for the homeless and was always there to help those in need.
Hilda enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter when she could. In her spare time, she also collected dolls and spent time with her dog, Missy.
Hilda joins in heaven her loving parents David and Lillian; brother Thomas Morris, and sister Peggy Geskey.
Surviving are her loving husband of fifty-one year’s Joseph, at home; daughter Jacqueline, Miners-Mills; son Donald Beseda and his wife Terri, Sugar Notch; grandsons Michael and Daniel Beseda; great granddaughter Liliana Beseda; brother Robert Morris and his wife Vicky; New Hope; sisters Rachel Suchowieski and her husband Michael, Myrtle Beach, SC ; Lois Horn and her husband Bruce, Spring Hill, TN; Marie Robins and her husband William, Berwick; and Ester Spangenberg, Levittown, along with nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the start of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Mass will be officiated by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming.
