Peter Baron, a beloved member of the Keystone community, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2023, at Geisinger CMC, surrounded by his cherished family. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kristen, mother Dora (Bordick) Yevich, step-father Thomas Yevich, and maternal grandmother Rose Bordick.
Peter is survived by the daughters who brought immense joy to his life:Melissa of Dallas Twp., Brandy Bessermin and her husband Rob Bessermin of Tunkhannock, Brittani Olker and her husband William Olker of Lake Ariel, and his baby girl, Bridget Baron. Additionally, he leaves behind 14 beloved grandchildren and his ex-wife, longest friend and biggest pain, Denise Baron of Lake Ariel. Peter's heart swelled with pride when he discovered that his first grandchild, Brayden Baron, would carry forward his legacy and found no greater joy than teaching his grandsons.
Peter's journey began when he enlisted in the US Army in 1967, a testament to his commitment to serving his country. He possessed a multitude of talents and passions, with an extraordinary flair for Italian cuisine. Peter's skills were unparalleled, and he took great offense if anyone opted for a restaurant meal over dining at his home. His garden was another labor of love, tending to it from early spring through late fall, ensuring a constant supply of fresh garlic for his family.
While Peter's hobbies were diverse and impressive, his greatest devotion was to his daughters. His family was his true purpose in life. Those who knew him remember him as a selfless individual, always willing to give of himself, even when he had little to spare.
Peter Baron's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his legacy will be carried forward by his adoring grandchildren.
