Mary K. Hagenbaugh, 80, of Wilkes-Barre Twp. passed at her home into her eternal life on November 21, 2023, while in the comfort of her family and the Sacred Heart Hospice.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on October 15, 1943, she was the only child of the late Donald and Katheryn Navin Laidacker. Mary attended school at the St. Joseph Monastery and was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School, class of 1961.
Mary was employed for part of her life in the local factory labor force for a few years. She then became a stay at home mom to care for her three children: Donna Kay,John and Kathleen. Mary filled her home with many beautiful memories for her children and grandchildren especially during the holidays of large family meals that she would cook for everyone and she enjoyed trying out some new recipes that would be found in her library of cookbooks that she collected. During the summer you could find Mary outside and taking in the sunlight. She enjoyed the warmth it brought her and the tan skin color. She also enjoyed her Diet Coke as a drink with a good meal, but no meal at Mary's home was complete without one of her baking treats.
Mary was a long time parishioner of the Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Sacred Heart staff and caregivers that aided in giving Mary her last wish of making it past her eightieth birthday and staying in her home during her final days and providing her with a comforting passing into the sunsetting of her life.
Mary now joins in heaven her loving parents Donald and Katheryn; and her son John Kruczek.
She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Viti, Wilkes-Barre Township; and Donna Kay Langan and her husband Jack, Hershey; grandchildren Zachery, Stephen, Matthew, and Tyler.
