Joseph J. Miscavage, 63, of West Wyoming, passed on Thursday, February 29, 2024, while in the care of the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 1, 1960, Joseph was a son to the late Lawrence and Lillian Hess Miscavage. Joe grew up in the West Wyoming area and attended local school. He was a graduate of the West Side Technical School where he excelled in automotive repair. After graduation, Joseph enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after his term of service.

Joe worked his entire life in the automotive field as an autobody specialist. He held employment at Joe's Auto Sales and DB Auto Sales until a life changing event left him disabled.

Throughout the rest of Joe's life, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He spent summertime going to Knoebels Amusement Park with his family, especially his granddaughters who he enjoyed spending time with.

On this day in heaven Joe is joined by his family. He is probably fishing in a heavenly pond surrounded by those ten point bucks that eluded him all his life, but he is raising a beer in honor to a life well lived and to a lifetime of great family, friendships, and memories we shared with him.

Joseph joins in passing his parents Lawrence and Lillian; and his brothers David; Jeffrey: Lawrence; and Richard.

Surviving to mourn his homegoing are his son Joseph Miscavage and his wife Christina, West Wyoming; granddaughters Lillian and Willow Miscavage; sister Darlene Keener, Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Celebration of Joe's Life will follow at 7:30 p.m. Interment services for Joseph will be held at a later date to be announced.
