Margaret “Mollie” Osmanski, 82, of Plains Township, a loving mother, sister, and grandmother was welcomed into her Lord’s kingdom on Friday, March 29, 2024, while in the comforting care of the Wesley Village Partridge-Tippett Nursing Facility, Jenkins Twp. Her family was with her as she departed to start her everlasting life with her family in heaven.
Born on December 28, 1941, in Wilkes-Barre, Mollie was a daughter of the late Fred Sr. and Margaret Larkin Williams. She grew up in the Parsons section of the city and attended local schools. Mollie was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1959. During her high school years, she participated in playing basketball for the school.
At a young age, Mollie married Stanley “Buffy” Osmanski. Together they raised four children: Joseph (Soupy), Frederick (Ricky), Margaret (Margee), and Robert. Mollie was a dedicated mother to her children. As they grew older, they got to experience their mother’s love of bowling, dancing, and enjoying the jokester she could be. She also enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic city with the former Eddie's Place and Lispi Lounge group that formed a bond over the years.
Mollie held employment as an accountant for Joel Manufacturing of Wilkes-Barre, and later for Casey Kassa Coal Company of Laflin, until she retired and took on an even greater responsibility. She became a caregiver to her grandchildren and had a delicate hand in helping to raise them.
As Mollie aged gracefully, she still had a salty sense of humor that would keep you on your toes and laughing through the years. She and her friends, “The Old Ladies Club” as Mollie referred to her Pokeno club, kept each other going into their twilight years. When Mollie wasn’t with her family or friends, she was out taking her grand pets for a walk around town.
Mollie was the rock of her family. As life got tough, she kept her family together with pure love, kindness and humor. Today we cherish the gifts that she left us.
In closing, the family wishes to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff of the Wesley Village Facility for their wonderful care of Mollie.
Mollie now joins her heavenly family: parents Fred and Margaret; husband Stanley; sons Joseph and Frederick; grandson Joseph Jr.; brothers Frederick Williams Jr. and sister-in-law Connie Williams; twin siblings that passed at birth Kevin and Kay.
Mollie's legacy lives on through her daughter Margaret A. Gurdock and husband Wally, Wilkes-Barre; son Rob and his wife Ann, Hudson; grandchildren Matthew, Ethan, Griffin, and Milea; brother Eugene Williams and his wife Jenny, Thornhurst; and her grand dog Mocha.
The family will be receiving guests on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains.
