Michael John Tempalski Obituary

Michael John Tempalski, 72, of the Hudson section of Plains, was taken home to his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours on Monday, June 18, 2024. He was a loving husband, dad, and pop pop to his family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on October 20, 1951, he was a son to the late Alec and Theresa Brunetti Tempalski. Michael grew up on Bergh Street in Hudson with his family and attended Saints Peter and Paul Elementary School. Mike was a graduate of the Sacred Heart High School, class of 1969. During his high school years, Michael was a member of the baseball team, but most importantly, he was introduced by a mutual friend to Sheila Kuchinsky. After two years of dating and falling in love, on August, 14, 1971, Michael and Sheila were married. Together they resided in Hudson where they raised three children: Autumn, Stuart, and Stephen.

Michael continued his education after high school in Philadelphia where he pursued computer programming. This education aided him in being employed by 84 Lumber as the assistant manager. A few years later, Michael worked for Luzerne Products and Word Processing as a foreman for several years. An unfortunate accident at work changed Michael’s life, and he became wheelchair bound. However, this never stopped him. He was very active in his son’s lives as a Den Leader for Pack 100 of the Boy Scouts, Plains. He participated in the Father’s Club, and enjoyed bowling. He was also a past member of the Polish Club, Hudson, and the Masonic Lodge.

Michael was a skilled woodworker since he was young. He helped to build his family home and family cottage up in Towanda. He enjoyed repairing whenever he could, even at his children’s homes. He loved to restore old vehicles and bring them back to their former glory. Michael was a big Nascar fan and Dale Earnhardt was his favorite racer. He was also a diehard Mets fan.

Michael was a devout believer in his Lord and Savior and a faithful member to the Parsons Primitive Methodist Church. Michael also helped at the church teaching Sunday school to the children.

He joins in heaven, his loving parents Alec and Theresa, and his sister Kathleen Lanza.

Surviving is his wife of fifty-three years Sheila, at home; daughter Autumn Tempalski-Donovan; Hudson; sons Stuart and his wife Janelle, Virginia; and Stephen and his wife, Jenna, Wyoming; grandchildren Mackenzie Craver: Jimmy Donavan: Nicholas Donovan and his wife Rowan: Grace Donovan: Raeghan Donavan: Jocelyn Tempalski: Gavin Tempalski, and Owen Tempalski; and one great granddaughter Nikiera Craver.
