Obituary of Jason Colleran Sr.

Jason Kristopher Colleran Sr., 45, of Plains Township, left this world on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, following a medical event at his home. At this time, we are all devastated at the loss of our loving father, brother, companion, son, and friend. As the Grateful Dead sang, “Every silver lining has its touch of grey.” On this day we choose to honor the positivity, complexity, the imperfections, and joy Jason has brought to all of our lives. Born on October 3, 1978, in Wilkes-Barre, Jason was the son of Charmane Shelley and the late Patrick Colleran Sr. Jason grew up in the North end section of the city where he attended Dan Flood Elementary School and a few years at James M. Coughlin High School. After a time, Jason returned to his studies and attained his G.E.D. As a young man, Jason went to work with his father at P.J.’s Window Cleaning Inc., Plains. Together they built a business for over thirty years until his father’s untimely passing. Jason continued on with the business and kept it growing until today. Jason enjoyed getting on his Harley and going for a ride with his friends. He was also a true outdoorsman that loved to go hunting and fishing in our local woods. He spent many nights enjoying a campfire and camping with his family and friends. He loved his music and it could be heard in his home as well as in the work truck. Jason was most proud of his two children Hailey and Jason Jr. who he loved to be with. He is proud that they were both dedicated to helping with the family business. We know there are more special events in his children’s lives that Jason would have been the first one there. He still will be, just in spirit and in our hearts. It's never goodbye, just fare you well, fare you well, I love you more than words can tell. In passing, Jason now joins his loving father Patrick Sr. For the surviving to celebrate and cherish his memory are his mother Charmane, Plains; daughter Hailey Colleran, Parsons; son Jason Colleran Jr., Parsons; girlfriend, Janel Keller, Plains; brothers Patrick Jr. Kingston; and Robert Rhodes, Hamburg; sisters Michelle Nice, Kingston, and Tammy Reed, Jenkins Twp.; his ex-wife and friend, Laura Kogoy-Colleran, Plains; his loving American bulldog, Bella; his Calico, Tabby; nieces; nephews, and all his friends. In honor of Jason, a visitation and celebration of his life will be held at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, on Sunday, June 23,2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A home going service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Please make sure you wear some tie dye colors shirts or Grateful Dead shirts. No ties allowed per his family requests.
