Obituary of Lillian J. Dombroski

Lillian J. Dombroski, 85, of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed into her Lord's care in the early morning on September 10, 2015. She was in the care of Celtic Care Hospice, Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.
Born on July 26, 1930, Lillian was a daughter to the late John and Rose Ostrasewski Levandowski, of Wilkes-Barre. Lillian grew up in Wilkes-Barre and attended local schools. She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin, Class of 1948.
After graduation, Lillian became a seamstress for the Plains Dress Company, and worked until the factory closed its doors.
In 1961, Lillian married Alfred A. Dombroski. Together they raised one son Bill. Throughout their lives Alfred and Lillian loved to dance, sing together, and go on many adventurous trips with their friends and family. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage. Alfred passed on May 26, 2013.
She was a proud member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains; the I.L.G.W.U., and the I.L.G.W.U. chorus. She was especially proud of her two grandchildren Cheryl and Billy with whom she enjoyed spending time. She was a great wife; mother; grandmother, and friend.
Lillian is preceded in death by her husband Alfred; sister Leona Elick; and brother Joseph Levandowski.
Surviving are her son Bill and his wife, Patti, Mountain Top; grandchildren Cheryl and Billy, Mountain Top; sisters Valeria Snitko; Wilkes-Barre; and Theresa Wincek, Plains Twp. brother John Levandowski and wife Jean, Wilkes-Barre, her loving sister-in-laws Charlotte Burko and Irene Koschak; and niece Pat Koschak; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday morning starting at 9:00am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson, Road. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Plains. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
