Obituary of Francis D. Marshalonis

Francis “Frank” Marshalonis, 69, of Pittston, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Plains. Frank was born December 16, 1954, in Kingston. He was the son of the late Frank Marshalonis and Lillian Whyte. Frank grew up in the Inkerman section of Jenkins Township and later he resided in Pittston. He was a graduate of the Pittston Area High School, class of 1972. He operated his own triaxle truck for fifteen years hauling coal to a Philadelphia power plant every day. Recently, he drove his triaxle for Romanski Trucking until he passed. Frank had a deep love for classic cars, motorcycles, and live rock and roll music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Marshalonis and nephew Daniel Tommaselli. Surviving is his sister Catherine Tommaselli; nephew Ron Marshalonis (Monica); nieces Lori Waslin (Mark) and Sharon Tommaselli; close friends Bob and Cindy Romanski and family, Renee Christman and her son Matthew. Frank will be missed by all who loved him. A special thank you to all who cared for Frank during his two weeks stay at the hospital. Funeral Services for Frank will be held on Thursday, August 8,2024, at 10:30 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Service will be officiated by Deacon Donald Crane. Interment will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Pittston. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
