Robert D. Kapp Obituary

Robert "Bob" D. Kapp,70, of Wilkes-Barre, formerly of Scranton, passed at his residence on Friday, August 9, 2024.


Born in Scranton on May 26, 1954, Robert was a son of the late Robert P. and Evelyn Jones Kapp. Bob grew up in the city and attended local schools. He continued his higher education at Wilkes University, Drexel University, and Temple University where he graduated with his degree to become a pharmacist.


Robert began his career working at retail pharmacies in the area and later in life found a home at the General Hospital working in the hospital's pharmacy.


Bob enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go skiing in the winter and playing golf in the summer. He enjoyed traveling and cruising with the love of his life Beth Ann Panaway. He also had special ties to Beth Ann's mother who considered Bob her son. Together they enjoyed watching television and having good conversations. When he was at home, Bob was always working on his computer. Bob was a faithful member of the Parsons Baptist Church.


Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Robin Kapp.


Surviving is his loving fiancée, Beth Ann Panaway, Wilkes-Barre; several cousins and friends.


Please join us for a visitation to be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, Pa, 18705. Robert's funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The service will be officiated by Rev. Wayne Nichol, Pastor of the Parson Baptist Church.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob's memory may be given to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 East Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA,18705.
