Please share a memory of Gary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gary Michael Matusick, 65, of the Hudson section of Plains, fell asleep into the Lord’s care on Tuesday, August 20,2024, at his home. Born in Plains Township on December 26, 1958, he was one of five children of the late John F. Sr. and Helen M. Mazuchowski Matusick. Gary grew up in Hudson and attended the St. Joseph Elementary School and was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1976. Gary worked for Topps and Techniglass in his younger years. For the past twenty years, he was working as quality control for Pride Mobility. To Gary this was just where he worked. His most important job was being Uncle Gar-Gar to his nieces and nephews. They were his greatest treasures and joy in his life. He was always concerned with their lives whether it was staying up and talking to his nephew who is a soldier driving back home from Fort Drums, or staying up all night watching the flight tracker of the plane a niece was on flying to an overseas destination. He just wanted to know they were safe. Lately, a special highlight to his life was his great nieces Aurora and Megyan and great nephew J.J. His life revolved around them and he enjoyed every moment. Gary was an avid Green Bay Packer fan that enjoyed going to White Out games with his nephews. He was also a fan of Penn State Football and the Baltimore Orioles. Gary enjoyed watching Nascar races and laughing at the Three Stooges when they were on television. He was also a faithful member of the Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains., where he would be at church always early for Mass. Dedicated, caring, hardworking, giving, listening, and always loving. These are the best gifts we received from our Uncle Gar Gar. He has a new job now to be a guardian angel for his family. Gary is now joined in everlasting rest with his loving parents. Surviving are his brother John J. Jr. and his wife Linda, Forty-Fort; sister Donna M. Conrad and her husband Paul, Plains; brother Joseph J. and his wife Mollie, Plains; and sister Lori Ann Grumblis and her husband, Joseph, Plains; nephew Joseph, “Jo-Jo”; niece Jade; niece Jessica; nephew Joseph; great nephew Joseph, “J.J.” great nieces Megyan and Aurora. Funeral Service for Gary will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road. Mass will be officiated by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor.
