Michael M. Sheplock Obituary

Michael Mark Sheplock, 58, of Pittston, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024

Born on April 3, 1966, Michael was the third of seven children of the late Thomas Michael and Mary Alice Ann Beierle Sheplock of Wyoming. Mike grew up in the Wyoming area and attended local schools, including Wyoming Area High School. He continued his education at Northampton Community College.

Mike was employed for most of his life as a truck driver working for LT Verrastro and Estes. Most recently, he was employed by Lowes and was a bartender at the Polish Club, Hudson, where he was also a member along with several other local clubs.

In his spare time, he enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City, trying his luck at the slot machines or at the tables. Mike enjoyed going to concerts, attending shows of comedian, Lewis Black, listening to AC/DC and many other classic rock bands. You could always catch him playing the “air drums.“ Recently, he enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Joseph.

Mike was preceded in death by Thomas and Mary Alice, and a baby sister Michelle, who passed at birth.

Surviving to cherish his life memories are his daughter Morgan Sheplock (Pittston), grandchildren Joseph and Delilah; brother Christopher and his wife Mary (Bethlehem); brother Gregory and his wife Marie (West Pittston); sister Paula Yamakaitis and her husband John (Florida); sister Andrea Borton and her husband Shawn (Michigan); brother Thomas and his wife Brook (Downingtown); along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains, on Sunday September 22, for a memorial. Visitation to be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A celebration of his life will be held by his family and friends following the service.
