Charles Eugene Hartman Jr., lovingly known as C.J., 50, of Shavertown passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. C.J. was born in Wilkes-Barre on April 26, 1974, and was a son to the late Charles Sr. and Eileen Arnold. He grew up in the city and attended local schools. He was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1991. Charles was employed by Pride Mobility products in quality control for the past twenty-five years. He was also the Sergeant of Arms for the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron Post 395, Kingston. C.J. was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who loved visiting the city and catching a game. He was also a Nascar fan and was hoping his favorite driver, Denny Hamlin, would win the championship this year. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles Hartman Sr. and Eileen Arnold; and sister Rita Hartman. He is survived by his companion of twenty years Amy Chilcote; Shavertown; daughters Shalene Riemer, Loxahatchee, FL; Taylor Hartman, Dallas; step sister Tina Gaydos; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins, and to the many friends C.J. had that will be missing him. The family would like to thank their dear friends Georgiann Ross and John Fronzoni, for your kindness that will never be forgotten. A memorial service for Charles will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Black Diamond American Legion, 386 Wyoming Ave, Kingston, PA 18704.
