Obituary of Yvonne Hargraves

Yvonne Hargraves, 70, of Hanover Township, passed on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Berwick on April 25, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Triplett Sr. and Clara Wert Pollock. Yvonne grew up in Shickshinny and was a graduate of the Northwest Area High School, class of 1972, where she was co-captain in the color guard. Yvonne learned at an early age how to sew. She worked as a seamstress for Lady Esther, Berwick, and Ricky’s Fashions, and Leslie Fay in Wilkes-Barre. While working Yvonne attended night school to become a nail technician. Upon graduation she opened a business called “Get Nailed” in South Main St Wilkes-Barre. She worked there from 1993 to 2016 when she retired from nails. She was a dedicated worker who never missed a day of work. She was a very talented nail technician who everyone loved. She then worked at Canvas Specialties, Hanover Twp., from 2017-2024. She also did tailoring and altering clothes for family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress. She made clothes for her children and grandchildren. Anything from pajamas to holiday dresses and Halloween costumes. She was forever famous for her curtains and placemats. In her spare time she would attend craft shows under the name Sew What! She loved creating dolls and sewing crafts for the shows. She was an avid animal lover. Her dog, the late Miss Marilyn, was her pride and joy who she loved very much. Along with many other pets. Yvonne was a dedicated mother to her two daughters and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren. She loved listening to music and taking long walks. Yvonne was a giving and caring person and always lending a helping hand. Her love will be forever felt and forever cherished in our hearts. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Robin Triplett. Surviving are her daughters Heather Edwards, Hanover Twp.; Jaclyn Edwards, Hanover Twp.; sisters Saundra Blydenburgh, Catawissa; Melony Martin, Benton; Wendy Fenstermacher, Berwick; brother Joseph Triplett Jr. and his wife Jackie, Shickshinny; grandchildren Dylan Androckitis; Sydney Lazzaro; Colton Brobst; Montanna Edwards; Graylyn Horn; great grandchildren Landon Edwards; Dylan Androckitis, and one due in April, 2025; along with her extended family and friends. At this time, services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Please keep Yvonne's memory in your heart, and her family in your prayers..
