Obituary of Loretta Marie Ferrando

Loretta Marie "Babe" Ferrando, 84, of Bear Creek Township, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, while in the care of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Township. Born on April 24, 1931, she was a daughter to the late William and Jeanette Klosienski Powell of Hudson. Loretta grew up in the Plains area and attended school graduating from Plains Memorial High School, class of 1948. She was employed by Howard Johnson Hotel, Pittston, for several years. She married Bernard Lee Ferrando on July 2, 1976. Together they celebrated 39 years of marriage. Loretta loved to go to the beach, whether it was a small trip to Wildwood, Atlantic City, or going to more exotic locations like Hawaii, St. Thomas, or Cancun, she was right at home sitting in the sand with her feet in the water and a Pepsi in her hand. She was also a great cook that loved to over feed her family and friends. In recent years, Loretta cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandson. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Thomas; sisters Florence; Marie; and Irene. Surviving are her husband Bernard, Bear Creek; sons Richard Micheletti; Bear Creek and Angelo Micheletti and his wife Vicky, Plains Twp.; sisters Dolores, Maryland; and Margie, Florida; grandchildren Christopher Micheletti, Florida; Lisa Micheletti, Pittston; Kiana Micheletti, Nanticoke; Timothy Rawls, California; great grandson Dylan Micheletti ; and nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 10:00am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.,55 Stark Street, Plains. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00am till time of service.
