Obituary of Mary Margaret Orzechowski

Mary Margaret Orzechowski, 94, of the Miners-Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, returned home to her Lord while in the Care of Hospice and surrounded by her loving children on Monday, April 13,2015 .
Born in Camden, New Jersey, she was a daughter to Joseph and Stephanie Olszewski Bogenski. At a young age her family moved to the Wyoming Valley. Mary attended local school and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin, class of 1939. She worked various jobs until she found employment during World War II with the Continental Can Company, Wilkes-Barre. She left her job after a few years when she married Bernard (Jake) Orzechowski, on April 7, 1947.
Jake and Mary started a family together. Mary took on the role of homemaker, mother and caregiver, not only to their two children James and Ann, but to extended members of her family who became ill. Jake was the hardworking provider. Together Jake and Mary celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage until Jake passed in September, 1984.
Mary was a devote Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Church, Hudson, until the church's closure. She was currently a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. In her spare time, Mary was an avid watcher of Soap Operas and various television shows.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Bernard.
Mary is survived by her loving children: son James, Wilkes-Barre, and daughter Ann Orzek, Missouri.
Mary's funeral will be held this Friday, April 17, at 9:00am from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark St, Plains Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hudson. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
