Obituary of Paul Joseph Petroski

Paul J. Petroski Sr., 61, of the Hudson Section of Plains, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2013, celebrating the week of Thanksgiving surrounded by his loving family at his son's home in Englewood, Colorado. Paul was born in Plains on January 30,1952, he is the son of Violet Majeski Petroski and the late Edward P. Petroski. He attended local schools in Plains and was a graduate of the Plains Memorial High School, class of 1969. Over Paul's life he was employed at the American Silk Mill, Hudson; Intermetro, Wilkes-Barre; and Deer Park Construction in New York and New Jersey. After leaving Deer Park, Paul started his own carpet business K-PAT Karpet Company, serving the Wyoming Valley and surrounding areas for the past seventeen years. Paul was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains; the Hudson Servicemen's Club; the Polish American Veterans, Plains, and many other associations. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and his grandchildren. He was an economist at heart and loved following the stock market. He enjoyed shuffleboard, playing cards or visiting our local casino with his friends. Paul also enjoyed his daily walk through the streets of Hudson. He will be missed by so many who came to know and love him. He is preceded in death by his father Edward; his former wife Joan Janiszewski Petroski; daughter Kristi, and brother Joseph. Paul is survived by his mother Violet, Plains; sons Paul Jr. and his wife Teresa, Englewood, CO; Anthony, Hudson; Jason Davis, Dallas; daughter Amanda and her fiancé Jimmy Lynch, Hudson; brother Robert and his wife Phyllis, Inkerman; grandchildren Derek and Kristi, Englewood, CO; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paul's funeral will be held on Monday, December, 9, 2013, at 9:00a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday, December 8, from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
