Obituary of Richard William Patts

Richard W. "Rickey" Patts, 41, of the Hudson Section of Plains Township passed on at his private residence on Sunday, September 7, 2014.
Born on July 1, 1973, he was a son to Almeda Yale and the late Anthony Patts. He grew up in Hudson and attended St. Joseph and Cotton Avenue Schools. He was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School , class of 1991. Rickey continued his education and received an associates degree at Luzerne County Community College in the field of computer science. He continued his education at King's College pursuing computer science.
Rickey held employment at Manchester, Telerx, in the data entry departments. Most recently he was a claims processor for Cigna Health Insurance.
Rickey was the ultimate Chicago Bears' fan ,he never missed a game. He loved to participate in various fantasy football leagues. He was a member of the Hudson Servicemen Club, the Plains Polish American Veterans ( PAV), and the Italian Club, all of Plains Township.
Rickey enjoyed spending time with friends at the Kelly's Bar, Plains. At Kelly's, he participated in dart leagues, pool leagues, and played on the softball team.
Rickey was a great son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him, especially his nieces who he loved spending time with.
Ricky is preceded in death by his father Anthony Patts, 2009.
Surviving are his mother Almeda, St. Petersburg, Fl; brothers Anthony, Hughesville;Thomas and his wife Donna, Hudson; sister Almeda Appleby and her husband Donald, St. Petersburg, Fl; nephews Kyle, Travis, Tyler, and Zack; nieces Samantha and Almeda; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 10, at 11:00 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains. Friends and family are invited to pay respects to the family at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am to time of the Mass. Services will be officiated by Rev. John Boyle, Pastor.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Rickey's name.
