Vincent Michael Pisaneschi, "Vinnie", 67, of Plains Township, passed away on October 10, 2013, in the General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre
Born in Binghamton, New York, on November 8, 1945, he is the son of Christine Trikoso Pisaneschi and the late Horatio Pisaneschi. Vincent's family moved to the Plains area when he was a child. He attended local schools and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin, Class of 1963.
Vincent entered the work force after school as a plumber's apprentice for a few years and then worked for Bethlehem Steel until the onset of the Vietnam War. Vincent Vincent then joined the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Enterprise as an ammunitions specialist for his tour of duty.
When he returned home, Vincent started to work for the Proctor and Gamble Company as a technician. Vincent was not just a technician he was an innovator and help to advance the company's production capability with his designs and ideas. Vincent retired after thirty-two years of service.
During this time Vincent enjoyed traveling with his wife, the former Shirley Thurston, spending time with his family, listening to rock n' roll, and reading. He also enjoyed fishing. One of his greatest triumphs was catching a 37lbs cod, the largest fish he ever caught. In 2012, while fishing, Vincent was almost eaten by a shark off the coast of New England.
Vincent was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moosic, and their fishing club.
He is preceded in death by his father Horatio, grandson Edward, and his sister Frances.
Vincent is survived by his wife of thirteen years Shirley, at home; mother Christine, Edwardsville; sons Michael and his wife Melissa, Shavertown; Jeffrey, Whitehaven; daughter Nicole, Whitehaven; stepchildren Sandy and her husband Jeff, Wilkes-Barre; Jim and his companion Jackie, Wilkes-Barre; Rick, Poconos; grandchildren Sophia, Nicholas, Pandee, Matthew, Alexander, and Taylor; sisters Nancy and her husband Phil, Edwardsville; Jean and her husband Rick, Belfont; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful lab, Jack, missing him at home.
Vinnie's Funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Services will be officiated by Rev. Joseph Kearney. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
