Obituary of Linda Joyce Sarbaugh

Linda Joyce Sarbaugh, 60 , of Wilkes-Barre, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born on July 11, 1953, she was a daughter to the late Douglas and Mary Ellen Roth Thomas of Wilkes-Barre. Linda attended Wilkes-Barre schools and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1971. After graduation, she worked for House of Savoy, Prestige Shoes, and Jack Williams Tire, all of Wilkes-Barre. Linda then became employed by the Nesbitt Hospital as a dietary aide. She stayed at the hospital for a few years and then her job transferred to the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where she retired. Linda enjoyed spending her time at the Mohegan Sun with her family and friends. In her spare time, she was an avid crafter making a variety of crafts. Linda was a past member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church, until the church's closure. Linda is survived by her sons Richard and his companion Joanne Olson, Wilkes-Barre; Stephen and his wife Melissa, Wilkes-Barre; sisters Mary Ellen Everett and her companion Ralph; Aida Lecitshon and her husband Bill; Carol Fisher and her husband Joseph, all of Wilkes-Barre; brother Douglas and Mary Thomas Jr., Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Richard III and Alexandra Sarbaugh, Wilkes-Barre; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Linda will have a funeral service this evening at 7 p.m. in the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Rev. Hadley Hayes, pastor of the Messiah Primitive Methodist Church, Bear Creek, will be conducting services.
