Obituary of Geraldine Zielinski

Geraldine “Gerrie” Zielinski, 61, of Wilkes-Barre, passed peacefully with her son by her side on Sunday, January 22,2017, while in the care of the Celtic Hospice Unit, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Wilkes-Barre on November 13, 1955, she was a daughter to the late Stanley and Helen Dombrowski Zynel. She attended local Wilkes-Barre schools and graduated from the James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1973. She pursued higher education at the Luzerne County Community College and received an associate degree in skilled nursing. She found employment at the General Hospital Wilkes-Barre as an LPN for several years. She also worked for the United States Postal Service for several years as a clerk. Gerrie was a past member of Ss. Peter andPaul Church, Plains. She was a loving mother to her two children Eric and Danielle. She was an advocate of greyhound adoption and education. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Helen; and sister Linda Murphy. Surviving are her two children Eric Zielinski, and Danielle Marquez. Gerrie’s service will be private and will be held at the convenience of her family.
