Obituary of Eric James Zielinski

Eric James Zielinski, 32, of Plains Township, passed on February 14, 2017, while in the care of the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born on October 7, 1984, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son to James Zielinski and the late Geraldine Zynel Zielinski. Eric grew up in Plains Township and attended local schools. He was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 2003. While attending Coughlin he was a member of the Crusaders football team.
Over the years, Eric had several jobs, most recently he was employed by Home Depot as a warehouse worker in Pittston Township.
Eric enjoyed sports all his life. He enjoyed attending games and was a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers; Penn State Football, and the Baltimore Orioles baseball team.
Eric throughout his life loved spending time with animals, especially caring for greyhounds.
He was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine “Gerrie” Zielinski, who passed on January 22, 2017.
Surviving Eric is his loving father James Zielinski; sister Danielle Marquez; aunts, uncles, nephew, and several cousins.
The family would like to thank the Keil family for the love and support they have given Eric over the last several months while being a guest in their home.
A celebration of two lives, Eric and his mother Geraldine, will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.,55 Stark Street, Plains. A prayer service, led by Rev. Jack Lambert, Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Church, will be held at 7:30 pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to any rehabilitation or recovery facility for drugs and addictions of the donor’s choice.
