Obituary of Eva Chropcho
Eva Chropcho, 90, of Jenkins Township, passed peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2017, while in the care of the Highland Manor Nursing Center, Exeter.
Born in the Shantytown section of Jenkins Township, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Anna Timcheck Chropcho She attended a local school and joined the workforce at an early age. Eva worked for General Consolidated Cigar and Pittston Cigar factories for the majority of her life. Eva was an avid Penn State Football fan and a Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Eva was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Eva was preceded in death by her brothers John, Michael, and Stephen; and sisters Mary Puk, Anna Kopec, Julia Bienasz, Dolores Kundla and Helen Belardi
Surviving Eva is her sister Margaret Chropcho, Shantytown, brother Nick Chropcho, Shantytown and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Requiem Liturgy at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Liturgy will be officiated by Rev. Michael Kerestes, Pastor of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Dallas.
