Obituary of Kathleen Ann Lanza

Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Lanza, 69, of Plains Township, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, after a brief illness.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre and was the daughter of Theresa Brunetti Tempalski and the late Alec Tempalski.

She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains Township. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul’s Church, Plains Township. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by JCPenny’s Department Store, Wilkes-Barre. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathy is survived by her mother Theresa;  her husband of fifty years Thomas Lanza Jr. ; children Carolyn Pizzella and her husband Frank , Plains Township; Thomas A. Lanza and his wife Holly, Exeter; granddaughters Alexis and Alison Lanza; brother Michael Tempalski and his wife Sheila, Hudson; sister in law Beverly Lanza, CT; brother in law Anthony Micacci, CT;step-grandchildren ; nieces; nephews; cousins; and her companions Patches and Kit-Kat (Momma).

A special thank you to Doctor Michalene Torbik and  Geisinger Plains I.C.U. Staff for making Kathleen’s last days peaceful.

              Kathleen’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.,55 Stark Street, Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am from Saints Peter and Paul Church, Hudson Road, Plains. Interment will be private.

              Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
