Obituary of Christine Theresa Cichocki

Christine Cichocki, 86, of the Hudson section of Plains, passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, while at the ManorCare Nursing Facility, Kingston.

              Born in Plains on November 4, 1931, she was a daughter to the late Alexander and Martha Ciemny Cichocki.

              She attended the local Plains school and graduated from the Plains Memorial High School class of 1949.

              She worked in the Neiser Brothers Department store in Wilkes-Barre as a sales associated for many years. She was also a secretary for the church of St. Joseph’s in Hudson.

              Christine at an early age developed Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.), but she did not let it take over her life. She enjoyed doing needlepoint; volunteering at her church; planting beautiful gardens; and tending to her manicured yard.

              Her parents and a sister Helen Demko preceded Christine in death.

Surviving are nieces Denise (Robert) Coyle, Phillipsburg, NJ; Mary (Murry)Swim, Plains Twp.; and nephew Paul(Carol) Demko; Plains.

              A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Christine on Monday, February 12, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Plains Twp.  Interment will be held later due to inclement weather.  Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass service on Monday.
