Obituary of Audrey V. Kozemko
Audrey V. Kozemko, 88, formerly a resident of Henry Street, Wilkes-Barre, passed on Monday, March 26, 2018, while in the care of the River Run Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Kingston.
Audrey was born in Courtdale on June 9,1929, she was one of five children of the late Otto and Viola(Whitson) Kuttenberg. She grew up in Courtdale and attended local schools. She was employed as a garment worker in a local garment factory manufacturing clothing. She was also a member of the I.L.G.W.U.
On June 10, 1950, Audrey married Theodore J. Kozemko. Together they raised two children Deborah and Theodore Jr. “Ted”. They resided on Henry Street for most of their lives and were members of the Saint Stanislaus Kostka Church, Wilkes-Barre. Audrey and Theodore enjoyed dancing to Polka music in the summer at the local bazaars and they also followed their favorite band Jolly Joe and the Bavarians.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Viola; husband Theodore Sr.; son Theodore Jr. ‘’Ted”; daughter Deborah Malys; brothers Carl and Rupert; and sisters Shirley and Freda.
Surviving are daughter-in-law Pamela Kozemko, Wilkes-Barre; son-in-law Leonard Malys; Bluffton, SC; granddaughter Corinne Santarelli and husband Anthony, Factoryville; grandson Jared Kozemko and his wife Cheryl, Los Angeles, CA, and great granddaughter Madelyn Santarelli, Factoryville.
Family and friends are invited to attend Audrey funeral service to be held on Thursday, March 29,2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark Street, Plains. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Marty Garms, Pastor of the East End Primitive Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Saint Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Plains Township. Friends and family may also call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m.
