Obituary of Casmir Charles Kaskiel

Casmir C. Kaskiel,86, of Plains Township, died April 30,2016, while in the care of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Plains on October 11,1929. He was a son to the late Charles and Josephine Sweeda Kaskiel.
Casmir served in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Corporal after serving two tours during the Korean War.
Returning home, Casmir found employment as a diesel mechanic. He worked for different mechanic shops over the years. He retired from Mack Trucking after 16 years of service.
When Casmir's hands weren't gripping a wrench they were holding a fishing pole in a boat on a pond or a hunting rifle in the local game lands. He was a lifelong outdoorsman.
He is preceded in death by his brother Water Kaskiel, and his sister Sophie Halecki.
Surviving Casmir are his niece Sandra Browning, Plains Twp.; nephew James Kaskiel, Dallas; grand nieces Holly Browning and Heather Hagenbaugh; grand nephews James and Ryan Kaskiel; and several great grand nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 3,2016, in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends and family may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:00am to time of Mass.
