Obituary of Edward Novinski

Edward Novinski, 88, of Wilkes-Barre, passed, Sunday, May 26, 2013, in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center , Plains. Born in Parsons, October 18,1924, he was the son of the late Edward and Jessie Treveltan Novinski. He grew up in Parsons and attended local schools. He attended James M. Coughlin, but left to join the Army during World War II. He was received several commendations and medals for his service throughout the Pacific theater attaining rank of Technician Fifth Grade. After the war, he returned to Parson and worked for a brief time in the American Cigar Factory. He then became employed by Prestige Shoes in Brookside and after many years retired. He was a New York Yankees fan and a local historian to his family and friends. Edward is preceded in death by his nephew Francis J. Krokos Jr, 2012. Surviving are his sister Mildred Krokos and her husband Francis, Parsons; niece Lois Kruzlik, Forty-fort; and nephew Richard Krokos; West Wyoming. Friends and family are able to call Tuesday May 28, 2013, from 5:00p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., 55 Stark Street, Plains. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Edward will be laid to rest with his fellow brothers in service at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
