Obituary of William Joseph Chango

William "Bill" J. Chango, 58, of Philadelphia, died
unexpectedly, Saturday, December 1, 2012, at General Hospital,
Wilkes-Barre, after suffering a sudden illness. He was surrounded by
his loving family at the time of his passing.
Bill was born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward and
Eleanor Costa Chango. He grew up in the Philadelphia area and has
family ties to the Atlas and Kulpmont area. He attended local schools in
Philadelphia and was a graduate of the North Catholic High School for
Boys, Class of 1971. During this time he fell in love with his high
school sweetheart, Geraldine "Gerry" Honoway. They were married on
January 7, 1978. Together they celebrated thirty-five wonderful years
of marriage. During these years, Bill was employed as a delivery
driver for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in the Philadelphia area for
thirty-seven years. He was an active member of the Pepsi-Cola Bottling
Company, Teamsters Union, Local 830. He was a member of the Holy
Innocence Parish, Philadelphia. Mr. Chango is survived by his loving
wife Gerry, at home; daughter Rachel Yenkowski and her husband Robert,
Dallas; brothers Ronald and his wife Lorraine, Indiana; Edward and his
wife Terri, Abington; Jeffry and his wife Annette, Philadelphia; Mark,
Philadelphia; sister Patricia Devlin and her husband John Sr., Exton,
Pa; sister in law Leanne Smithkors and husband Duane, Dushore, along
with several nieces and nephews.
Bill's Funeral will be held Thursday, December 6, from the Chapel of
Christ the King, King's College, W. Jackson Street, Wilkes-Barre. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Rev. Richard Hockman
C.S.C. and Rev. Thomas Looney C.S.C. at 10:45 a.m. in the Chapel of
Christ the King. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery,
Hanover. Friends may call at the Chapel on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Parking is available at The Upper Court House Parking Lot on West Jackson street, and at the parking lot on Main Street, across from King's Scandlin Gym.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to (the Cantores
