Joseph Harold Meyers, 69, of Plains Township, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018, while in the caring hands of the Celtic Hospice Unit at Geisinger South Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born February 27, 1949, in South Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Harold and Helen (Crowley) Meyers. He was a graduate of Nativity of Our Lord Grade School and South Scranton Catholic High School, class of 1967.

In his lifetime he was employed by Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Plains; Mozip Sign Company, Kingston; and Andress Expert Cleaning Company, Plains.

He was, along with his beloved wife Carolyn, an avid gardener, and together they took great pride in their landscaping abilities. He enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels, and listening to all the great music he acquired on vinyl recordings through the years.

Surviving are his wife of twenty-one years, Carolyn Marek Petraitis Meyers, the special light of his life, Plains; stepson Richard Petraitis and his wife Melissa, Plains; stepdaughter Emily Branson and her husband, Brian, Emmaus, PA; grandson Kevin; sister Mary Ellen McAndrew and her husband Brian, Fairfax, VA.

A special thank you to Doctor Bruce Saidman and the Medical Oncology Associates, Kingston; Doctor David Horvick, Wilkes-Barre; and to the staff at the Celtic Hospice Unit, Wilkes-Barre; for their loving care and kindness shown to Joe when it was needed most. God Bless you.
