Obituary of Elizabeth Hines
Elizabeth “Betty” Hines, 86, of the Hudson section of Plains Township, passed peacefully on Monday evening, December 17,2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on May 12, 1932, she was a daughter to the late John and Helen Marchlinski Suchocki.
Betty was a life long resident of Plains, she attended Plains Memorial High School and was employed in the local garment industry for thirty-four years were she was also a proud member of the I.L.G.W.U.
She married the love of her life, Theodore J. Hines, on February 2, 1957. Together they raised two daughters: Diana and Debbie.
Betty was a strong-willed woman and amazing at everything she did. She loved listening to Elvis, playing a game of scrabble with family, and going to bingo's.
She was especially proud of her daughters accomplishments throughout life and was just happy to be there to celebrate in their life’s events.
Betty was a past member of St. Joseph Church, Hudson, until its closure and a current member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Plains Twp.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-six years, Theodore; sisters Rose Kowalski and Ceil Bezdziecki; brothers John and Carl Marchlinski.
Surviving are daughters Diana Distasio and her husband Raymond, Mountaintop, and Debbie Luchetti and husband Michael, Hudson; sister Marie Hrobak and her husband Leonard, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Hines on Friday, December 18, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township, with Rev. John Lambert, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plains Township. Friends and family may call at the church on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until time of mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 366 North Main Street, Taylor, PA 18517.
Arrangements are in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains.
