Obituary of Mary Grace Ann Simonson

Mary Grace Simonson passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on July 8, 2020. She was 85 years young, born May 19, 1935, daughter of the late Harry and Mary Considine Davis. She was a lifelong resident in Fox Hill of Plains Township. She was a devoted wife to her late husband John, married on June 21, 1953. They shared their lives with their 13 children, 21 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was the heart of the family, always providing and taking care of others, even in her older years she was mothering her family. Mary Grace will always be known for her warm smile and genuine soul that accepted everyone for who they are. In her downtime, she enjoyed her hot tea sitting at her windows, humming her favorite tune while doing big jigsaw puzzles, scramble word books but her favorite was to laugh and spend quality time with her family. Her beautiful spirit will be missed. Mary Grace is now reunited with five of her children John Jr.; James; Daren; Peggy Simonson and Kim Walsh all who proceeded her in death. As well as her husband John; her granddaughter Christi Lynn; her parents, her sisters Alice Thaler, Margaret Mosley and Anna Everett and her brothers James, Robert and Thomas Davis. Surviving children are: Karen Skiba and her husband Scott; Ricky Simonson; Brian Simonson; Joseph Simonson; Bobby Simonson; Annie Simonson and her husband Tony; Tommy Simonson and Donnie Simonson all of Plains Twp. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Yanaitis Funeral Home in Plains Township. Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by Pastor Steve Brown, Parker Hill Community Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton. A special acknowledgement from the family to her daughter Annie for taking loving care of their mom in her final years and a thank you to Randy and Shannon from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate support.
