Obituary of Lori McPhail (Svab)

Lori McPhail (Svab), 55, of Plains Township, passed on Tuesday, September 15,2020, while in the care of the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center(GWVMC)with her family by her side.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 4, 1965, she was the daughter of Theresa Walski McPhail and the late Roger McPhail.
Lori grew up in the Plains area and attended Saints Peter and Paul Elementary School and was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1983.
She was employed by Leslie Fay for twenty years and for Westside Window Cleaning Service for the last 8 years working in accounts receivable.
Lori enjoyed volunteering her time at the Saints Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre for many years. It was a cause close to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her birth father Roger.
Surviving are her son, Thomas Svab, Plains; mother Theresa Burrier and father Richard D. Burrier, Plains; sister Renee Dalbo and husband Edward, Laflin; special niece Olivia Dalbo,Laflin; best friend Joann Sieminski, Forty-Fort; son's father Thomas Svab,Plains; step sister Sheila Mooney; step brother Richard W. Burrier, god parents Janet Jones and Joseph Walski; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A special thank you goes out to the GWVMC ICU staff, especially Madison, for the exceptional care rendered to Lori during her time of need.
Lori's Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, at 10:00 a.m. from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc.,55 Stark Street,service will be officiated by Rev. John Lambert, pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Church. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. All services will follow CDC and state guidelines and all attendants are asked to wear a mask for entry to the facility.
