Lillian G. Piechota, 91, of Wilkes-Barre passed into the Lord’s kingdom on Friday, November 6,2020, while in the care of Allied Services, Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre. Lillian was born on January 16,1929, in the Hudson section of Plains Township, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Valeria Czahur Kluk. She grew up in the Hudson area and attended Plains Township schools and was a graduate of the Plains Memorial High School, class of 1947. Lillian moved to Passaic, New Jersey, when she married her love Stephen Piechota. Together they lived and worked in New Jersey for most of their lives. During this time, Lillian worked as a Senior Pharmaceutical Technician for Hoffmann- La Roche until her retirement. She was an active member of the Franklin Township Senior Citizens and the Roche Retired Club of Nutley, New Jersey. In 2007, Lillian moved back to the Wyoming Valley, where she filled her time with many church activities at St. Joseph in Hudson. She enjoyed being an active member in the Senior Citizens group of Plains and going on many bus trips throughout our country. Lillian also enjoyed going out with her lady friends to dinner at a variety of restaurants and going to different church bingos throughout the valley. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, husband Stephen, brothers Joseph and Bernard Kluk. Lillian is survived by her sister Bernadine Pasternak, Somerset, New Jersey; sister-in-law Dolores Piechota, Michigan, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation for Lillian will be held on Tuesday, November 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Service will be celebrated by Rev. John Lambert, Pastor. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Masks and social distancing will be followed during all services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY,10598,or the Ronald McDonald House, 332 Wheeler Ave, Scranton, PA. Services have been placed in the care of the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains Twp.
